Prof. Dr. Utz Schäffer is director of the Institute of Management Accounting and Control (IMC) of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar.

He has published numerous contributions to scholarly and practice-oriented journals and acts as reviewer for many of them. His research focus lies on controlling & strategy execution and the roles of CFOs and controllers.

Prof. Dr. Utz Schäffer is co-editor of WHU Controlling & Management Review and the Journal of Management Control, and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Controller Association (ICV). He also sits on the Academic Advisory Board of CTcon, a management consulting company.
