Fanny Almersson is a PhD candidate at the Department of Accounting at the Stockholm School of Economics. Her research is focused on the topic of management accounting and gender. In particular, she is studying how accountants and accounting technologies can play a crucial role in both reproducing gender barriers, but also in fostering gender equality and questioning underlying gender structures hindering women from thriving within organisations. Fanny holds both a MSc and BSc degree from the Stockholm School of Economics. Before pursuing her PhD, Fanny also worked with sustainability accounting.
